This simple light displays massing as means to accentuate light. Illuminated void uses heavy objects to give mass to light, creating an additional structural element; the void. The importance of the void is understood through the activation of light. A copper plate resting on the surface of the wooden box acts as the switch, forcing the user to not only interact with the solid, but also with the void. This project was a study on the interaction of mass, light and user and a precursor to the Please Touch series.
