As an architectural designer, Karin Hostettler is interested in how the built environment affects our daily lives, leading to her focus in community driven design. Detroit began Karin’s obsession with cities having grown up in the surrounding suburbs, leading her to New York City where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Design and Architecture Studies from New York University. With a strong interest in people and making Karin went on to receive her Master of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Bronze Medal for leadership and professional merit. Karin enjoys getting her hands dirty and has designed and fabricated multiple projects for the RISD Architecture Department. In 2018 she was involved with the creation of a masterplan for the outdoor spaces of the RISD Museum in Providence, RI. Karin now resides in Brooklyn, NY where she continues her pursuit of being both an artist and designer.
